Steve and Erika, the couple behind Sinscents

Two people. One tiny red devil. Zero interest in making the cheapest candle on the internet.

We’re Steve and Erika, the couple behind Sinscents. We built this because we wanted candles that smelled genuinely good, looked like something worth leaving out, and had enough personality to make people stop, laugh, point, gift one, or come back for another.

Why our candles cost a little more

If you are looking for the cheapest candle you can buy, there are millions. We can’t compete.

That is not a complaint. It is the point.

We are not trying to win a race to the bottom. We would rather make fewer candles and care far too much about each one. Every Sinscents candle starts with the finished experience we want, then we work backward through fragrance, wax, wick, vessel, artwork and presentation until the pieces make sense together.

Fragrance quality matters. Wax matters because it has to carry that fragrance correctly. A wick is not just a string in the middle of a jar. It has to work with that wax, that fragrance load and that vessel. The vessel matters to the burn, the look and the gift. And the label is not an afterthought. Around here, the artwork is part of the product.

We don’t design around the cheapest pallet

Large companies can buy enormous quantities, shave pennies everywhere and let purchasing departments decide what qualifies as “good enough.” That is a perfectly valid way to build a mass-market candle. It just is not ours.

We are a small brand run by a married couple. We can change our minds because something does not smell right. We can reject a vessel because it feels cheap in the hand. We can keep working on a label because the joke lands but the art does not. That freedom is inefficient in exactly the way we want it to be.

Anyone can make a candle

Seriously. Wax, fragrance, wick, container. Done.

Making one that burns well, smells intentional, looks memorable and feels like somebody actually cared is harder. That is where we spend our time and money.

So yes, a Sinscents candle may cost more than a bargain-bin candle. We are comfortable with that. We would rather explain the price than quietly cut the things that made us want to build Sinscents in the first place.

Fewer. Better. Stranger.

We do not need ten thousand candles. We need the right ones. We watch what people respond to, learn from what sells, improve what deserves improving and keep building the Sinscents world around the products people actually love.

Bad Influence. Great Candles.

This page is still growing. We’ll be adding more of our story, photos and the strange road that got us here.
