Liquid Courage is the fictional patent remedy for the moment your sensible side says “maybe don’t” and your interesting side has already ordered another round. The fragrance starts with brisk black tea and orange peel, then gets gloriously unruly with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, peppercorn, and vanilla.

It smells like an apothecary who has seen some things and is not taking questions. Light it before a night out, during a night in, or while composing a message you’ll reread tomorrow with the cold sweat of a Victorian widow.

It cannot improve your judgment, provide cocktails, or manufacture a convincing alibi. That part is still on you.

Burn it right

Keep the wick trimmed before each burn. On the first burn, let the melt pool reach the edge of the vessel when practical. Never leave a burning candle unattended, keep it away from drafts and anything flammable, and stop burning when about 1/2 inch of wax remains.
