JUST HOLD IT STILL.
The slap was unnecessary. The flashlight moved three millimeters. The entire repair apparently depended on it. A garage childhood classic, now available with a wood wick.
Scent: OWWW
Bright lemon, aloe and agave open fresh, followed by green leaves and chrysanthemum, with earthy patchouli underneath. Crisp, green and unexpectedly good for something named after getting your hand smacked away from an engine bay.
For Dad, the car guy, and every unwilling flashlight holder
A funny gift for Dad, a birthday gift for your husband, a mechanic gift, or a car guy candle for anyone who learned that “hold it still” was apparently a complete set of instructions.
The hardware
- 16 oz hand-poured paint-can candle
- Wood wick
- Apricot, coconut and soy wax blend
- Approx. 70-hour burn time
- Natural off-white wax, no dyes
- Hand-poured in the USA
Wood-wick note: Trim the wick to about 1/8"–3/16" before lighting and keep the wax pool clear of debris.
Keep digging: shop the Sinscents Garage collection or steal a few ideas from our gift guide for car guys.
Burn it right
Keep the wick trimmed before each burn. On the first burn, let the melt pool reach the edge of the vessel when practical. Never leave a burning candle unattended, keep it away from drafts and anything flammable, and stop burning when about 1/2 inch of wax remains.

Your candle can smell incredible and have a questionable sense of humor. We see no reason to make you choose.
— OUR EXTREMELY SERIOUS BRAND PHILOSOPHY
We could’ve slapped “Live, Laugh, Love” on a jar. But then we’d have to live with ourselves.
— A STATEMENT FROM THE ART DEPARTMENT
Our sense of humor is questionable. Your checkout shouldn’t be. Shopify handles the payment. We handle the bad influence.
— THE DEPARTMENT OF ACTUAL RESPONSIBILITY
For the person who says “you shouldn’t have”—and, for once, means it. Still wants to know where you got it, though.
